Tuesday 17/06/2025 OED2 High Ropes
Adrenalin Forest courses feature over 100 challenges across six levels. Each level is harder than the last, with obstacles starting at 1.5 metres above the ground that are suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. This is a test of both physical skills and mental skills with problem solving required. Challenges include the Indiana jump, crossed logs, barrels, wrecking balls, a commando flying fox and Tarzan jump.

Nerves will definitely be tested, but the revolutionary Clic-iT safety system, which ensures a continuous connection to the safety line, will keep you safe at all times.
Wednesday 18/06/2025 OED3 Rock Climbing Extreme Edge
Complete US20157 Demonstrate novice rock climbing and belaying skills on Ewbank Grade 12 and above. Meet at school at 7:00am, take the roll, complete a safety briefing then depart for Extreme Edge by 7:30am. Arrive at Extreme Edge by 10:00am and participate in the safety briefing given by instructors onsite before commencing rock climbing. Depart Extreme Edge by 1:00pm and return to Thames High School by 3:00pm.
Wednesday 30/07/2025 OED3 Mountain bike Rotorua
Students will be able to participate in the mountain bike culture of Rotorua.
Students will be able to collect information on how MTB tourism development has shaped the Rotorua experience.
Students will spend time in the environment while on a visit to Rotorua.
Students will gain first hand knowledge of the MTB tracks and the layout and design of the MTB parks.
Tuesday 19/08/2025 - Wednesday 20/08/2025 OED3 Tramping / Camping
7:00am Meet at Thames High School in the new gym to complete the roll, pick up the lunches, check student gear and carry out a safety briefing.
8:00am Go to Pak'n'Save.
9:00am Depart for the start of the Pinnicales Hut track on Franklin Road.
10:30am Arrive at the start of the Waitawheta Hut
10:45am Have a safety briefing.
11:00am Start walking to Pinnicales Hut.
1:00pm Lunch.
1:30pm Continue walking to Pinnicales Hut.
3:30pm Arrive at Pinncales Hut, have a safety briefing, set up beds and have some downtime.
5:30pm Dinner.
7:30pm Ensure all dishes are done and then downtime until bedtime.
10:00pm Into bed for the night.
7:00am Wake up time, pack bags and have breakfast.
8:45am Safety briefing.
9:00am Start walking to the start of the track.
11:00am Lunch.
11:30am Continue walking to the start of the track.
1:30pm Arrive at the start of the track and get into the vans to depart for Thames High School.
1:45pm Depart for Thames High School.
3:15pm Arrive back at Thames High School.
