This Profile Report was written within 15 months of the Education Review Office and Hillsborough School working in Te Ara Huarau, an improvement evaluation approach used in most English Medium State and State Integrated Schools. Context
Hillsborough Primary School provides education for learners from Years 0 to 6. The school’s vision is to grow learners and develop citizens. This is underpinned by the school values of learning to learn, effective learning relationships for learning, learning partnerships and opportunities for learning.
Hillsborough Primary School belongs to the Puketāpapa Community of Learning | Kāhui Ako.
Hillsborough Primary School’s strategic priorities for improving outcomes for learners are:

to grow engaged and empowered learners who strive for personal excellence and achieve success through learning how to learn

to have reflective and evaluative teaching practice as a means to enhance teacher capability and improve learning outcomes for all ākonga.

ERO and the school are working together to evaluate how well Hillsborough School develops and delivers an holistic, authentic student focused local curriculum.
The rationale for selecting this evaluation is to:

ERO’s role will be to support the school in its evaluation for improvement cycle to improve outcomes for all learners. ERO will support the school in reporting their progress to the community.
