Do you want to leave a legacy here for future members of Papanui High School? - Do you have a great designing eye? Would you love to see your creation worn on sports teams in here at PHS?
We are running a new sports uniform design competition due on 12 June at midday. All you have to do is get creative, use the schools colours of navy blue, green, gold and white in your design. Create a design that could be used in multiple styles of uniform across multiple sports. If you can please supply a write up of what images, designs, combinations you have created and how they link to Papanui High.
A selected group of Staff/Student voice will then work on creating a short list for SLT to decide what is the prefered design. We will then publish the new uniform to the school community and start introducing the uniforms into our sports as we refresh the existing combinations.
Good luck and if you need to discuss, reach out and we will be happy to talk to the design brief.
Tēnā koe,
Please pass the reminder onto your staff and students that entry to the Poetry Aotearoa Yearbook student poetry competition will close 15 June 2026.
Poetry Aotearoa Yearbook and Massey University Press are running the Poetry Aotearoa Yearbook student poetry competition for another year. This competition has been a huge success to date, with student poems published in the 2023, 2024 and 2025 editions to critical acclaim. Student poetry competition winners have gone on to have their own poetry collections published, be published in other major poetry publications, win prizes, be awarded mentorships, have their work published online — including in The Spinoff — and make appearances at the Auckland Writers Festival.
There is still plenty of time to enter so please encourage your students — it’s a fantastic opportunity for them to become published poets, and it allows us the chance to share some of the amazing verse being created by young people from Aotearoa.
