About Pukenui School (Te Kuiti)
Welcome to Pukenui School, Te Kuiti - an integral thread in the fabric of our vibrant Waikato region.
Nestled on King Street West within the heartbeat of suburbia lies this State school that stands as a proud testament to co-education and inclusivity. With approximately 134 students, each year level from Kindergarten through to Year 6 is represented in our diverse student community.
The spirit here at Pukenui School thrives on the rich cultural heritage of its pupils; with a significant Māori presence making up about 70% and European/Pākehā students comprising around 20%, we celebrate this unique make-up as part of our collective identity. Our school is more than just an educational institution - it's a place where cultural understanding, respect, and pride are at the forefront.
"I am Dorothy Carr," says our dedicated principal who has been instrumental in fostering this environment for years to come. Under her guidance, Pukenui School continues its mission of providing quality education while nurturing a strong sense of community and cultural identity among all students.
