Welcome to Shannon School, an inclusive educational environment nestled in the heart of Grey Street within our vibrant suburb of Shannon, located in the culturally rich region of Manawatū-Whanganui. As a coeducational full primary state school serving approximately 130 students from diverse backgrounds, we pride ourselves on fostering an atmosphere where every child can thrive.
At Shannon School, our community is characterized by its strong embrace of Māori culture and values. With a student population that comprises roughly 49% Māori students alongside the majority European/Pākehā representation at about 42%, we are committed to providing an education steeped in cultural respect, understanding, and pride for all cultures represented within our school walls.
