About Pakotai School
Welcome to Pakotai School, nestled in the heart of Whangarei on Mangakahia Road, where learning is a shared journey amongst our vibrant student body.
As one of Northland's esteemed state schools specializing in full primary education for approximately 26 students from diverse backgrounds including Māori and European/Pākehā communities, Pakotai School fosters a rich cultural exchange within its halls. With an enrolment process that values inclusivity and respectful interaction amongst peers of varying heritages, our school is proud to be co-educational.
Under the leadership of Principal James Duke, Pakotai School upholds core values such as community engagement, environmental stewardship, and a commitment to lifelong learning. These principles resonate through every aspect of our school's ethos, from classroom activities that encourage teamwork among students across different year levels—ranging from Year 1 to Year 6—to initiatives aimed at enhancing the natural beauty surrounding us in Whangarei.
As a state-run institution within Northland's picturesque town of Mangakahia, Pakotai School is not only an educational establishment but also serves as a beacon for cultural pride and environmental consciousness.
