About Rotorua School
Welcome to Rotorua School, an educational gem nestled in the heart of our vibrant city at 1249 Arawa Street, Rotorua Central within the Bay of Plenty region.
At this full primary state school, we proudly embrace a co-educational environment that fosters learning and growth for approximately 380 students. Our diverse student body reflects our strong community spirit with a rich cultural mix where Māori make up the majority at around 71%, alongside European/Pākehā representing about 17%. This unique composition is celebrated as we strive to honor and integrate these cultures into every aspect of school life.
Under the guidance of Principal Fred Whata, our students embark on a journey where values such as respect, responsibility, courage, honesty, and compassion are not just taught but lived. These core principles form the bedrock upon which we build an inclusive educational experience that prepares every child for success.
The Rotorua School community extends beyond its walls into our picturesque suburb of Rotorua Central where students can enjoy a balanced education amidst natural beauty and cultural richness. As part of the Bay of Plenty region, we are privileged to be surrounded by stunning landscapes that inspire creativity and connection with nature.
