About St Matthew’s School (Marton)
Welcome to St Matthew’s School, nestled in the heart of Marton within Manawatū-Whanganui region where education is a journey we embark on together.
With an approximate roll size that fosters intimate learning environments for around 54 students at our full primary level, St Matthew’s School prides itself in offering personalized attention and support. Our co-educational setting allows boys and girls to learn from each other harmoniously.
Our school is under the State Integrated authority which reflects a commitment towards providing quality education while respecting our diverse student community makeup, where 40% of students identify as Pacific peoples alongside significant representation by European/Pākehā and Māori communities. This diversity enriches classroom discussions with varied perspectives that reflect the vibrant tapestry of New Zealand society.
Led by our dedicated principal, Sandra Connor, St Matthew’s School embodies a culture where core values such as respect, responsibility, and inclusivity are not just taught but lived. Our students learn to appreciate the unique background each person brings into their learning environment which is central in shaping them into well-rounded individuals ready for life's adventures.
