About The Terrace School (Waipukurau)
Welcome to The Terrace School, nestled in the heart of Waipukurau within Hawke's Bay region.
At this state-funded full primary school with a diverse roll size of approximately 175 students, we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Our community is proudly representative of New Zealand’s rich cultural tapestry—with about two in five (40%) being Māori or Pacific Islander youth.
The school's ethos centers around values such as respect, responsibility, and resilience; these principles are deeply interwoven into the fabric of our daily interactions. We encourage students to embrace their unique identities while working together harmoniously in a co-educational setting.
Our dedicated leadership team is headed by Principal Anaru Chesswas, whose vision for The Terrace School aligns with the aspirations of our student body and local community. Under his guidance, we strive to provide an education that not only meets academic standards but also prepares students for active participation in society.
As a state school located just 164 Porangahau Road Waipukurau, The Terrace School is accessible and well-integrated into the fabric of our suburb.
