Girls With Hi-Vis Thursday 11 June

Girls - this trip out is for you!  The 'Girls with Hi-Vis' Careers day out is on Thursday 11 June.

Year 11-13 Girls are invited to join our tour and find out about the trades sector and career opportunities. 

You'll see jobs in the industry, get inspired and complete fun hands-on activities.

Visit the Careers Office in Block 2 to register - limited places so be quick!

SISS Boys Hockey

Exciting opportunity!

Nayland College will once again be represented at the SISS Boys Hockey Tournament, to be held in Greymouth during Winter Tournament Week, 31 Aug - 4 Sep 2026.

This is open to all Nayland College boys who play hockey. Please note that this will not affect your club hockey, as it is a separate event and the opportunity to represent your school.

We have an established coach and a manager who are keen to lead and support the team in both organised training sessions and competition.

If you haven't already signed up and are interested in playing, please contact Val in the Sports Office, ASAP, so preparations can get underway.

Year 12 Leadership Day - 25th June

 The Year 12 Leadership Day, on the 25th June, is a chance for next year's Year 13's to start their leadership journey. If you are thinking of becoming a peer mentor, waka leader or captain, or a student leader, then you should attend. Get a group of friends together and start discussing this opportunity. Tāhunanui Dune Restoration Community Planting Day.

NCC Parks Team and Green by Nature are delighted to invite you to the annual Tāhunanui Dune Restoration Community Planting Day. We've got 1300 plants to plant, and we'd love to see you there. ¨    Come along and celebrate Arbor Day at the beach, by making a difference to our environment that you can see for years to come. Easy digging for the whole family, with a free BBQ and coffee to keep you topped up with enthusiasm! ¨    When: Sat 6 June 10 am-1 pm (rain day 7 June) ¨    Where: Check in next to the Beach Volleyball Courts, (near the Beach Cafe) ¨    Bring: A smile, gardening gloves, closed-toe shoes and a spade if you have one (some spades available). ¨    Postponements will be advertised on our Facebook Page  

TSS EQUESTRIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026

Are you experienced in horse riding? 

The TSS Equestrian Championship 2026 is being held on Monday 29 June at Rough Island Equestrian Park, Richmond. 

Hosted by Waimea Pony Club, the competition format involves:  

1. DRESSAGE 
2. SHOW JUMPING 
3. SHOWCROSS 

Cost: $160.00 per team - Teams to consist of up to 4 riders

NZ Defence Force Female Engagement Evening

Register to hear about careers in the NZ Defence Force - this online Teams event is specifically for females.

The Faculty of Engineering will once again be co-hosting STEMinism – Engineering and Technology Evening, alongside UC student clubs Women in Engineering and Women in Technology.

STEMinism is a free event that will be livestreamed for students outside of Canterbury and those unable to attend in person.

It’s aimed at Year 11-13 students with a focus on young women interested in a future in engineering and technology. Parents and teachers are also welcome.
