About Taupo-nui-a-Tia College
Welcome to Taupo-nui-a-Tia College, a vibrant and inclusive educational community nestled in the heart of Taupo on New Zealand's North Island.
As one of the state schools offering comprehensive education from Year 9 through to Year 15 (equivalent to high school), our campus is proudly co-educational, fostering an environment where both boys and girls can learn together. Our diverse student body includes a mix of local students as well as international scholars who bring unique perspectives into the learning experience.
Our principal, Ben Claxton, has been instrumental in cultivating our school's culture that values respect, inclusivity and academic excellence. Under his leadership, we have continued to grow both academically and personally for all of our students since opening its doors back in 1982.
Located just a short distance from the picturesque Lake Taupo region – which is part of Waikato's famed tourist attractions like Huka Falls, Wairakei Hot Springs and Thermal Earth Mines Park - our school provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about New Zealand’s rich natural environment while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
