About Kawaha Point School
Welcome to Kawaha Point School, nestled in the scenic suburb of Kawaha Point within Rotorua, Bay of Plenty - a region known for its vibrant culture and breathtaking landscapes. As one of New Zealand's contributing state schools with an approximate roll size of 229 students, we pride ourselves on being co-educational to ensure inclusivity in our learning environment.
Our school is a reflection of the diverse fabric that makes up Aotearoa. With nearly half (46%) of our student community identifying as Māori and 35% European/Pākehā, we celebrate this rich cultural heritage through various learning experiences tailored to honor both perspectives.
Under the guidance of Principal Maria Gillard, Kawaha Point School has established itself not just as an educational institution but also a nurturing community. The principal's commitment is evident in our school ethos that emphasizes respect for all cultures and encourages students to embrace their unique identities while learning from one another.
