About Tarrangower School
Welcome to Tarrangower School, nestled in the heart of Taumarunui at the picturesque address of 25 Manson Street.
At this vibrant co-educational full primary school with a close-knit roll size of approximately 59 students, we are proud to foster an inclusive and culturally rich learning environment. Our student community is diverse, comprising mainly Māori at 74%, complemented by European/Pākehā representation making up the remaining 15%. This unique demographic composition adds a distinct character to our school' spirit and emphasizes Tarrangower School’s commitment to embracing cultural diversity.
Under the dedicated leadership of Principal Rawinia Peters, we uphold core values that resonate with both Māori and non-Māori students alike. These principles include respect for self and others, community connection through te reo Māori (the Māori language), and a strong sense of identity within our school's cultural heritage.
Situated in the Manawatū-Whanganui region, Tarrangower School is not just an educational institution but also serves as a bridge between cultures. We are deeply rooted in local traditions and proud of being part of Ta
