About Lytton High School
Welcome to Lytton High School, nestled in Gisborne on Nelson Road where education is not just a service but an experience that celebrates diversity within our vibrant student body.
At this co-educational state secondary school serving Years 9 through 15, we are proud to have approximately 572 students, with the rich tapestry of cultures represented by a community where Māori make up over half and Pacific peoppers contribute significantly. This unique blend creates an environment that fosters understanding and respect across different backgrounds.
Leading our school is Principal William Elliott, who has been instrumental in shaping the ethos of Lytton High School to be one where every student feels valued and empowered. Under his guidance, we strive for excellence while honoring the values that define us.
Lytton High School is a place where education extends beyond academics; it's about building character in harmony with our community’s heritage and aspirations. Here at Lytton, we are not just preparing students for the future—we are nurturing global citizens who appreciate their roots while reaching out to embrace worldwide perspectives.
