About Longburn School
Welcome to Longburn School, a vibrant and inclusive educational community nestled in the heart of Palmerston North's suburb of Longburn within Manawatū-Whanganui region. Our school is proudly co-educational, fostering an environment where both boys and girls learn together from Year 1 to Year 8.
At the helm as our dedicated principal stands Joanne Emerson, whose passion for education has made her a beloved figure at Longburn School. Under her guidance, we have cultivated strong values that form the foundation of who we are and what we stand for: respect, integrity, excellence in learning, teamwork, compassion, responsibility, perseverance, honesty, kindness, courage, fair play, open-mindedness, tolerance, appreciation, creativity, enthusiasm, curiosity, independence, self-discipline and pride.
With an approximate roll size of 79 students, our school offers a close-knit learning experience where individual attention is given to each student's needs. As New Zealand’s state education system continues its commitment towards providing quality primary education for all children in the community, Longburn School stands as one such institution that upholds these values and ensures every child receives an enriching educational journey.
