About Okaihau College
Welcome to Okaihau College, an enriching educational experience nestled in the heart of Northland at 58 Settlers Way within our vibrant suburb also named Okaihau.
As a state-run co-educational secondary school serving students from Year 7 to 15, we pride ourselves on fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Our community is reflective of the rich cultural tapestry that defines New Zealand with approximately 269 young minds embarking upon their educational journey together.
With a student body composition where 62% are Māori, we celebrate our indigenous heritage and ensure representation within the school's ethos. This cultural richness is integral to Okaihau College’s identity as it shapes community values such as respect for others, empathy, teamwork, integrity, perseverance, honesty, courage, compassion, responsibility, self-esteem and leadership.
Principal Thomas Davison, alongside our dedicated staff, is committed to providing a supportive educational journey that prepares students for the future while honouring their past. Our location in Okaihau allows us accessibility within Northland's natural beauty and resources.
