About Waitara Central School
Welcome to Waitara Central School, nestled in the heart of our vibrant suburb at Cracroft Street.
As a contributing state school located within Taranaki'in picturesque region, we pride ourselves on providing an inclusive and nurturing environment for all students. Our community is rich with diversity; 53% of our families are Māori, reflecting the indigenous heritage that runs deep in New Zealand culture.
Our school boasts a co-educational atmosphere where both boys and girls learn together harmoniously. With an approximate roll size of 161 students across various year levels, we ensure personalized attention to each student's unique needs while fostering strong relationships within our tightly knit community.
Guided by Principal Vickie-Ann Kahu-Pukoro and her dedicated team of educators, Waitara Central School upholds core values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, empathy, resilience, courage, integrity, trustworthiness, manaakitanga (kindness), kaitiakitanga (guardianship) towards our environment, and whanaungatanga (kinship). These principles form the foundation of all we do here at Waitara Central School.
