AI Robot League

Wednesday 29/04/2026 - Friday 29/05/2026

Are you interested in joining the newly formed Robot League, where you battle and challenge other schools? (Think after school sports for Robots!)

Matamoe and the Engineering school of VUW want to bring free after-school Robot and AI learning opportunities to Year 9-10s across Wellington. Students work in teams to code, train and test vehicle robots that can move, see and respond to their environment. Students will explore Python coding, AI, and computer vision through hands-on challenges, culminating in friendly interschool “Robot Jam” competitions. Students require no tech or coding experience.

Why Robotics and AI
AI and robotics are transforming industries from medicine and climate science to design and transport. The best way to learn AI is to use a practical application of the technology aka Robotics. We want students to learn the power of these technologies.

Sessions will take place every Monday from 3:30pm, see Mr des Tombe or Mr Bennett if you are interested.
