About Te Kura o Hato Hohepa Te Kamura
Nestled in Kaeo, Northland on State Highway 10 lies Te Kura o Hato Hohepa Te Kamura (HHTK), a unique full primary co-educational state integrated school. With an approximate roll size of just six students and led by Principal Mereana Anderson, this small but vibrant community is steeped in the rich cultural heritage of its 100% Māori student body.
At HHTK, education extends beyond academic achievement to embrace a holistic approach that honors and integrates students' whakapapa (genealogy) into daily learning. The school’senvironment is designed with the surrounding region in mind – Northland being known for its beautiful landscapes and strong Māori connections, HHTK provides an educational setting where these elements are celebrated.
The values of Te Kura o Hato Hohepa Te Kamura resonate deeply within each student. Respect, courage, manaakitanga (kindness), aroha (love and compassion) – all form the bedrock upon which students learn to build their futures in harmony with both themselves and others.
As an integral part of Northland's educational landscape, HHTK stands as a beacon for Māori-centric learning
