About Kaitaia College
Welcome to Kaitaia College, an inclusive educational environment nestled in the heart of Northland at 53 Redan Road. As a coeducational state secondary school serving students from Year 9 through to their final year (Years 12 and 13), we proudly accommodate approximately 763 young minds eager for growth.
At Kaitaia College, diversity is our strength. With a rich tapestry of cultures represented within the student body—57% Māori and 30% European/Pākehā—we celebrate this makeup as part of what makes us unique in Northland.
Under the leadership of Principal Louise Anaru-Tangira, our school community thrives on shared values such as respect, inclusivity, and excellence. These guiding principles shape every aspect of life at Kaitaia College from classroom interactions to extracurricular activities.
"Our focus is not just academic success but also fostering a sense of belonging for all students," says Principal Anaru-Tangira. "We believe that when every student feels valued and included, they are more likely to achieve their full potential."
